Italian newspapers report that Borussia Dortmund have submitted a bid of €26m for Radja Nainggolan. Borussia Dortmund want to reinforce their midfield with the Belgian talent, especially with Reus possibly leaving in this or the summer transfer window. Many believe that Dortmund squad is to face an exodus of star players, following their poor Bundesliga performance in the first half season.
Borussia Dortmund defender Kevin Großkreutz supported Klopp's belief, stating :
"Borussia Dortmund stays a top address even without Champions League. It's a wicked club with wicked fans and a wicked stadium and a whole lot of tradition, too. Players are aware of that.”
Radja Nainggolan was an undisputed first-choice at Cagliari, who are still co-owners of his contracts, before moving to Roma in January 2014. In Roma, he has made 24 appearances and scored 3 goals. He played eight matches for the Belgium national team scoring two goals but has failed to get his name on the list of players going to the World Cup in Brazil. His estimated transfer value is €24m according to transfermarkt.com.
Borussia Dortmund would have to persuade both Cagliari and Roma to permit a deal before they could complete the signing. Cagliari have set the bar at €12 million and don’t seem to be willing to negotiate. It seems Borussia have already submitted a decent offer and Roma and Cagliari still have to decide on Belgian’s future.
