Liverpool's manager Brendan Rodgers and star player Steven Gerrard concur that Liverpool will be aiming for the Premiership title again next year.
This season, the Anfield team were just inches away from winning it ahead of Manchester City, but the points they lost against Chelsea and Crystal Palace cost them dearly.
Liverpool lost to Chelsea at Anfield 2-0, with Steven Gerrard losing the ball deep in his half after slipping up, while they let the 3-0 lead against Crystal Palace slip away with just 10 minutes to go, and the game ended a draw 3-3.
“Congratulations to Manchester City. If you finish on top after 38 games, then you have won the title, and you deserve it. They have great players and a manager who came and adjusted well to the English football I hope they spend this night well. We will celebrate this season's success and we will try again. We will get stronger in the summer. Faith is the crucial word.”Said Rodgers
“If someone had told me at season's start that going into the last match we would have small chances of winning the league, I would have accepted that. But as a player you always want more. We were unlucky. We made a great attempt, but we came just short. But what can we do? We will dust off and try again” Said Gerrard.
